Strengthening Sustainable Agriculture for Livelihood Security in Sundarbans:

The economic livelihood of Sundarbans communities largely depends on agriculture, with crops like paddy, vegetables and pulses grown in two main seasons. Although productivity has improved, true potential remains untapped. To promote sustainable farming, the organization implemented farmer trainings, field visits, workshops, and supplied quality seeds, fertilizers, tools and IEC materials. A baseline study guided interventions in Pathar Pratima block, benefiting rural cultivators, with 50% women participants.

Strengthening Food Security through Improved Agricultural Productivity:

Food security and agricultural productivity aim to ensure year-round access to safe, nutritious food while improving farmers’ livelihoods. After witnessing child deaths due to hunger, the organization prioritized this program in a selected village. Women formed the majority of beneficiaries. Training on modern agricultural techniques, distribution of quality seeds, fertilizers, and fruit seedlings, along with field visits, enhanced farming practices, productivity, and helped combat malnutrition.
